Duties and Responsibilities
- Education about the disorder:
- Describe: Key symptoms, causes, or course of illness education during the session.
- Effective medication and psychosocial treatments for this disorder.
- Identify treatments educated on during this session.
- Provide resources for additional information and support.
- Utilize educational material
- Educate clients of a treatment course
- Discuss treatment options – benefits, side effects, and risks of each
- Educate about the importance of communication with physicians & clinical staff
- Educate when to expect improvement due to medication and how those improvements will progress over time.
- Educate on relationship between benefits and adherence
- Educate on Self-Monitoring and Self-Management
- Educate on relapse/triggers
- Identify specific coping strategies educated during session.
- Educate on strategies to communicate symptoms to treatment staff.
- Maintain required confidentiality regarding client case materials in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Documentation and Recording (Progress Notes, Service or Treatment plan, Discharge Summary, Court, Serious and Critical Incident reports, or other contract requested reports or forms)
- Provide the required contact/daily reporting data, reports, plans of service or treatment, and court reports etc., on time and in a form that meets the needs of the family, referring agency and requirements of Family 1st Counseling Center Inc.
- Individual Supervision and Team / Peer Supervision
- Timely attendance and active participation in all meeting components.
- Participate in individual and team supervision as scheduled -- usually weekly. The requirements regarding individual supervision are:
- Maintain punctuality and frequency of all scheduled supervisions with Program Supervisor or designee.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with personnel from referring / collateral agencies. The requirements associated with this primary responsibility are:
- Maintain weekly contact and respond to all calls and inquiries from the referring collateral.
- Staff each case monthly with the supervisor
Technology Skills
- Medical software — Client information database systems; Patient electronic medical record EMR software
- Office suite software — Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Google Apps
- Microsoft Internet Explorer; Netscape Navigator; Web browser software, Chrome
Minimum. Requirements
- a high school diploma; or
- a high school equivalency certificate issued in accordance with the law of the issuing state;
- had three continuous years of documented full-time experience in the provision of mental health rehabilitative services or case management services; and
- demonstrated competency in the provision and documentation of mental health rehabilitative or case management services in accordance with Chapter 419, Subchapter L of this title (relating to Mental Health Rehabilitative Services) and Chapter 412, Subchapter I of this title (relating to Mental Health Case Management Services).
